Warragul lies approx. 102 km on the southeastern side of Melbourne. It has Strzelecki Ranges to its south, while Mount Baw Baw Plateau is situated on the northern side. As per the census of 2016, the population of Warragul was 14,276. It is a part of an urban area, including Drouin. The area surrounding Warragul is best known for its dairy farming and agriculture.
Warragul's major attractions Warragul is situated close to Lardner. Each year, three significant events are held at Lardner Park, attracting many tourists from far and wide. The Farm World Agricultural show, Harvest in Gippsland and Trucks in Action are popular events. Field Days are also quite popular as they include a wide range of dairying, beef cattle and horticulture exhibits. The Warragul Show is generally held on 1st Friday in March every year. This is usually a livestock and farming show and includes show bags, games, stalls, rides and fireworks.

History of Warragul Warragul has a long history and dates back to 1877 when the early settlers arrived in the area. These settlers built their dwellings and shops on Crown land, as they planned to settle down in the region. Railway lines were expanded so that Warragul could be connected to other parts of Australia. Over the years, many developmental activities have taken place in the region. On 16th March 1877, the first post office opened in the area. Today, Warragul is a flourishing town with several facilities and amenities for the residents and tourists who plan to come here.
