The town of Moe is situated in the Latrobe Valley in the state of Victoria, Australia. It lies in the Gippsland region and is about 130 km east of Melbourne CBD. The area falls under the jurisdiction of the City of Latrobe LGA.
At the June 2018 population estimates, Moe, together with Newborough, reported a total urban population of 16,812 inhabitants. The area's economy is essentk=ially driven by natural resources, the primary sector of the economy, and the secondary sector, which includes processing, coal mining, and fossil-fuel power generation.

History of Moe Moe was initially known as 'The Mowie' and later 'Little Moi'. In 1852, a small gold discovery was made in the town. In 1878, the area was declared the Shire of Narracan, after which the railway line arrived from the city of Morwell. With that, Moe railway became a central station and was connected to Walhalla, Yallourn, and Thorpdale lines, which are now closed.
