Dr Susith Kulasekara

Dr Susith Kulasekara is an accomplished Ophthalmologist with over 12 years of experience in the field. He obtained his medical degree, MBBS, from the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka in 2002. Dr Kulasekara then went on to complete his Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Ophthalmology in 2009. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) and has received additional Fellowship training in Medical and Surgical Retina from the University of Adelaide. Dr Kulasekara is also certified in Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS). Dr Kulasekara is a dedicated Consultant Ophthalmologist who has a particular focus on serving the rural and remote communities in the Northern Territory of Australia. He provides his services to those who have limited access to healthcare. Additionally, he acts as a term supervisor for Ophthalmology trainees, teaching medical, optometry, and orthoptic students. Dr Kulasekara conducts cataract and other ophthalmic surgeries at Darwin Private Hospital, where he has earned a reputation for his skill, compassion, and commitment to his patients. His clinical interests include Cataract surgery, Medical and Surgical Retinal Disease, and Glaucoma. Dr Kulasekara has made significant contributions to the field of Ophthalmology and has published research articles in reputable journals. He has also presented his work at national and international conferences, including the World Glaucoma Congress and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) Conference. With his extensive experience and knowledge, Dr Kulasekara is highly respected by his colleagues, peers, and patients.
