Dr. Efendy is an accomplished medical professional with extensive training and experience in the field of neurosurgery. He began his academic journey at the University of Queensland where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree with first-class honors. His dedication to the field of medicine brought him to complete a Medical Degree in 2003 and participate in the development of the school of anatomy at Griffith University.

His expertise in vascular surgery earned him the esteemed Justin-Miller medal from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Dr. Efendy then pursued his passion for neurosurgery and obtained advanced training in the management of brain, spine and peripheral nerve conditions from various medical professionals across Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Sydney. He also had the opportunity to learn from neurosurgery units in Singapore and Germany, further honing his skills and knowledge.

Dr. Efendy's main interests are in endoscopic assisted micro neurosurgery and minimally invasive spine surgery. With his expertise in remote neurosurgery services, he has focused on managing cerebral and spinal infections in tropical regions.

Dr. Efendy's commitment to providing comprehensive neurosurgical services led him to relocate to Northern Territory. Alongside his colleague, Dr. Michael Redmond, he is actively involved in the establishment of a Neurosurgery service in Darwin to help meet the needs of the community.
