Dr Rohan Brunello is an Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Auchenflower, Brisbane. He specializes in hip and knee arthroplasty, pelvic and acetabular reconstruction, and trauma. Dr Brunello completed his Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement Studies) and Medical Degree (with honours) at the University of Queensland. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (Orthopaedics) and an Associate Member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
Dr Brunello undertook a Fellowship in Hip and Knee Arthroplasty and Pelvic and Acetabular Trauma and Reconstruction at St George's Hospital in London in 2011. During this time, he trained under renowned UK arthroplasty surgeons, Mr Simon Bridle and Mr Phillip Mitchell. Dr Brunello gained extensive experience in all aspects of hip and knee arthroplasty, focusing on complex primary cases, revision cases with bone loss requiring femoral and acetabular reconstruction, and the treatment of infected joint replacements. He also worked in the UK's busiest pelvic and acetabular trauma unit under the guidance of Mr Martin Bircher.
In March 2012, Dr Brunello joined the Wesley Orthopaedic and Sports Injury Clinic. Additionally, he serves as a Staff specialist in Orthopaedics at Prince Charles Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. Dr Brunello holds a Senior Lecturer position at The University of Queensland's School of Medicine and is involved in teaching surgical anatomy for the Diploma of Surgical Anatomy at Queensland University of Technology's Medical Engineering Research Faculty.
