Dr Rajinikanth Janakiraman

Dr. Janakiraman is a highly experienced head and neck surgeon with exceptional expertise in treating malignancies, thyroid cancers, skin cancers, and facial trauma. He practices at Darwin Private Hospital and Royal Darwin Hospital where he has been providing excellent services to his patients for several years. Dr. Janakiraman completed his undergraduate and postgraduate education in South India and went on to pursue specialized training in Head & Neck surgery at St. George’s Hospital in London and facial trauma fellowship in Darwin.   Prior to joining Darwin, Dr. Janakiraman was a permanent faculty member at Christian Medical College in Vellore, India, where he served for more than 15 years. During his tenure, he established and directed the Head and Neck Surgery Department and the fellowship program. Dr. Janakiraman is the proud mentor of around 15 surgeons and has made significant contributions to the field of head and neck surgery and reconstruction, with over 30 peer-reviewed publications. He also collaborated with other research institutions to advance research and training in the field.   Dr. Janakiraman's dedication and outstanding work in the field of head and neck surgery has been recognized with several awards and travel grants. He spent time at leading centers including the RPA in Sydney, the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, and the MSKCC in New York, where he continued to hone his skills and knowledge.    Dr. Janakiraman is also an adjunct lecturer at Flinders University, SA, where he teaches, mentors, and trains future head and neck surgeons. His passion for the field of surgery and his outstanding patient care have made him a highly respected and sought-after surgeon in Darwin and beyond.
