Dr Michael Brown

Dr Michael Brown is a highly skilled and experienced cardiologist based in Adelaide, South Australia. With a specialty in interventional cardiology and non-invasive cardiac imaging with echocardiography, Dr Brown is dedicated to providing comprehensive and quality care to his patients.

Dr Brown completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the prestigious University of Adelaide, Australia, in 1977, graduating with distinction. He then pursued further post-graduate training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre, before undertaking his cardiology training at Green Lane Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand.

During his time in New Zealand, Dr Brown worked with the Medical Research Council, where he was involved in the development of innovative methods for treating heart attacks. Motivated by his pursuit of knowledge and advancement in the field, he completed his MD at Washington University in St Louis, specialising in heart metabolism using positron emission tomography.

Returning to Australia in 1988, Dr Brown continued his passion for interventional cardiology and non-invasive cardiac imaging with echocardiography at the renowned Royal Adelaide Hospital. He joined Adelaide Cardiology in 1994 and maintained his affiliation with the RAH, furthering his expertise in interventional cardiology. Additionally, he played a vital role in the development of CT coronary angiography and cardiac MRI at St Andrew's and Wakefield Hospital.
