Dr Jean Lee

Dr. Jean Lee is a highly experienced Consultant Rheumatologist and Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland. She earned her medical degree from Monash University in 2012 and completed her basic physician training and rheumatology advanced training in various Queensland-based hospitals, including Princess Alexandra Hospital, Gold Coast University Hospital, and Townsville Hospital, among others. Dr. Lee is a fellow of the Royal College of Physician (Rheumatology) and is associated with the Australia Rheumatology Association (Qld), International Association of Women in Rheumatology, and University of Queensland.

Dr. Lee's multicultural background has enabled her to become fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Malay and be sensitive to the cultural and personal beliefs of her patients. She has a particular interest in chronic rheumatological conditions and believes in adopting a shared care approach with other specialists and primary care physicians to improve patient outcomes. Her clinical expertise is complemented by her active engagement in research and education for physician trainees and medical students.

Aside from her impressive professional achievements, Dr. Lee's unique upbringing and cross-cultural experiences have instilled in her a passion for incorporating patients' backgrounds, beliefs, and preferences into their care. Whether treating patients in remote or metropolitan areas, Dr. Lee's aim is always to provide compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered care that promotes optimal health outcomes.
