Dr Janet Bayley

With over 30 years of experience in the field, Dr Bayley has developed expertise in a wide range of areas within psychiatry. Her special interests include women's mental health, including perinatal disorders, mental health disorders related to physical illnesses, eating disorders, mental health disorders in old age, and medico-legal reports.

Dr Bayley has experience working with diverse patient groups, including asylum seekers and refugees, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations, doctors, psychiatrists, and medical students, individuals with intellectual disabilities, as well as military veterans and individuals with physical disabilities.

Her areas of expertise encompass anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, brain injury, dementia-related disorders, depression, developmental disabilities, eating disorders, epilepsy, functional neurological disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Dr Bayley also offers supportive psychotherapy to her patients.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Bayley provides a range of services to meet the needs of her patients. She offers bulk-billing services for medical students, civil medicolegal assessments, gender confirmation letters, insurance opinions/reports, opinion and report consultations (MBS item 291), professional supervision, shared care, as well as being a workcover provider.
