Dr Nathan Brunott is a highly skilled general surgeon that holds a particular interest in laparoscopic general surgery, hernia surgery, endocrine, and trauma surgery, along with vast expertise in all general surgical issues. He acquired his MBBS with Honours after completing his postgraduate medical training at the University of Queensland in 2005. Following his residency at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, Dr Brunott pursued his surgical training in General Surgery at Nambour Hospital, Noosa Hospital, Cairns Base Hospital, and RBWH. In 2013, he was admitted as a Fellow of the RACS in General Surgery, possessing significant experience in both open and laparoscopic surgery. Moreover, Dr Brunott holds accreditation for endoscopy and colonoscopy with the GESA/RACS conjoint committee and is a part of General Surgeons Australia. He inspires and mentors junior doctors in upcoming medical trainings, residents, and registrars, into conducting research projects. Dr Brunott's major interests include complex hernias and abdominal wall reconstructions, thyroid, and parathyroid surgery, endoscopy, and colonoscopy, along with open and laparoscopic colorectal surgery. He shares his private practice with his wife, Dr Angela Robson, works as a part-time staff specialist at Cairns Hospital, and visits the Tablelands regularly for outreach clinics, both publicly and privately. In his leisure time, Dr. Brunott loves participating in outdoor activities, including water and land sports, with his wife and three children.
