Dr. Brandon Baraty is a highly esteemed gastroenterologist based in Eastwood, Sydney, Australia, specialising in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). He earned his Bachelor of Science and medical degree with Honours from the University of Sydney. He completed his gastroenterology training in Sydney and was granted fellowship to the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2017.
Dr. Baraty further specialised with a 12-month advanced IBD imaging fellowship in Canada, focusing on transabdominal ultrasound assessment. He is one of only Three gastroenterologists in New South Wales accredited by the International Bowel Ultrasound Group (IBUS). He is currently pursuing a PhD in this area.
Dr. Baraty is the Head of Gastroenterology at Macquarie University Hospital and a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) and Director of Endoscopy at Ryde Hospital, where he conducts regular endoscopy procedures and admits patients. He also practices at several other public hospitals, teaching ultrasound skills, contributing to IBD clinics, and performing endoscopies. Additionally, he is affiliated with Pennant Hills Day Surgery.
He holds accreditation from the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) and has been awarded Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy certificates for gastroscopy and colonoscopy, with an above-average polyp detection rate. Dr. Baraty is actively involved in teaching junior gastroenterologists and is highly engaged in IBD research. He is also involved in teaching junior gastroenterologists and has presented his research at various conferences, earning multiple awards.
