Dr Jong Woo is a highly skilled general surgeon with extensive expertise in advanced laparoscopic surgery, including cholecystectomy, hernia surgery, and bowel resection. He is affiliated with Auburn Hospital and Westmead Private Hospital and is accredited with GESA for diagnostic endoscopy and colonoscopy. Dr Woo completed his surgical training at Westmead Hospital and achieved a fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in general surgery in 2018. Following that, he also completed a year of fellowship in trauma and acute care surgery at Westmead Hospital. In 2004, he became a fully qualified general surgeon in Korea, having completed his surgical training at Samsung Medical Centre, one of the top medical institutions in the country. He is fluent in Korean and possesses excellent communication skills.
Dr Woo recently returned to Sydney after a year of successful practice in Bathurst. He is known for his friendly demeanor, thorough clinical evaluations, and exceptional surgical abilities. Additionally, he specialises in a broad range of procedures, including endoscopy/colonoscopy accredited by GESA, laparoscopic/open hernia surgery (inguinal, incisional, umbilical hernias), laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laparoscopic bowel resection (benign, malignant), thyroid/parathyroid surgery, skin cancers - local flaps or skin grafts (under local anesthesia), carpal tunnel syndrome, ganglion cyst, Dupuytren's contracture, varicose veins (open surgery/RFA endovenous ablation), and pilonidal disease, lipomas, and epidermoid cyst excision.
