He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery degree from Alexandria University in Egypt in 1969. A/Prof Ibrahim then went on to further his training and expertise through Fellowship programs.

He completed his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom in 1982, followed by his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Australia in 1981. These prestigious qualifications have provided him with a strong foundation and an extensive breadth of knowledge in the surgical field.
