After completing his MBBS degree at the University of Sydney in 1997, Dr Stening pursued further surgical training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He gained entry into the Orthopaedic training scheme at Sydney Northside, further honing his skills in the field.
Dr Stening then completed Fellowships in hip and knee arthroplasty with Wei K Chung at Nepean Hospital, Shriners Hospital Portland Oregon (USA), and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital Dallas (USA) in Paediatric Orthopaedics. These opportunities allowed him to expand his expertise and enhance his surgical techniques.
Currently, Dr Stening has a busy clinical practice, serving as a Visiting Medical Officer at Hawkesbury Hospital Windsor and Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick. He also holds visiting rights at Hospital for Specialist Surgery and Prince of Wales Private Hospitals. Alongside his clinical work, Dr Stening actively contributes to the Orthopaedic training scheme, assuming a supervisory role at both Sydney Children's and Hawkesbury Hospitals for SET trainees.
