Dr Jeff Chang

Dr Jeff Chang is a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist who is based in Ryde, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. He is associated with Epping Gastroenterology and Tophealth Specialist Centre, where he provides consultations. Dr Chang also performs endoscopy procedures at Macquarie University Hospital (private) and Nepean Hospital (public).

Dr Chang holds staff specialist appointments at Nepean Hospital and serves as a visiting medical officer at Macquarie University Hospital and Nepean Private Hospital. He is a well qualified medical professional, with the following qualifications: BSc(Med), MBBS, FRACP, PhD. He obtained his fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2011 after completing his gastroenterology training at Gosford and Concord Hospitals.

In pursuit of further expertise in his field, Dr Chang undertook additional training as the clinical research Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Fellow at the Western General Hospital Edinburgh, which is a renowned referral center for IBD in Scotland. Upon returning to Australia, he completed a clinical IBD fellowship at Concord Hospital and obtained a PhD in 2018. His doctoral research focused on examining intestinal permeability via confocal endomicroscopy in patients with inflammatory bowel disease. In recognition of his outstanding work, Dr Chang received a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) scholarship in 2014.

While Dr Chang has a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease, reflux disease, colon cancer surveillance, and viral hepatitis, he is well versed in all aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology. He is dedicated to providing high-quality care to his patients and is fluent in both English and Mandarin. As a bilingual practitioner, he is able to offer consultations in either language to ensure clear communication and understanding for all patients.
