Dr. Mark Bonnichsen is an accomplished gastroenterologist and interventional endoscopist who serves as a staff specialist at Concord Repatriation General Hospital. In addition to his clinical work, he is also involved in research, academic teaching, and supervision of medical students and trainees. Dr. Bonnichsen received his medical degree with first-class honours from the University of New South Wales in 2012, and is accredited in Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy, ERCP, and EUS.
Dr. Bonnichsen underwent his physician and gastroenterology training at Royal Prince Alfred and Liverpool Hospitals, where he completed endoscopy fellowships locally and internationally at Singapore General Hospital. During this time, he gained experience in pancreaticobiliary endoscopy, endoscopic mucosal resection, and colorectal cancer screening.
Dr. Bonnichsen is driven by his commitment to providing quality, compassionate care to his patients. He is passionate about improving systems that ensure prompt access to endoscopy, which he believes is essential for early detection and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases.
