Dr Yanna Ko

Dr Yanna Ko is an accredited Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist based in Eastwood, Sydney, Australia. She has a strong interest in improving gut health and overall wellbeing, and is known for her compassionate approach to patient care. Dr Ko holds an MD qualification, along with a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Adult Medicine.

Having graduated with first-class Honours from the University of New South Wales in 2014, Dr Ko completed her advanced training in Gastroenterology and Liver at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, as well as Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals. She is a recipient of the NHMRC scholarship, a prestigious award recognizing her research in bowel disorders, particularly focusing on irritable bowel syndrome and the gut microbiome.

Dr Ko's passion for her field is evident through her participation in national and international gastro conferences, where she has shared her expertise and insights. She is also a published author, with multiple contributions to peer-reviewed Gastroenterology journals.

Dedicated to providing personalized care, Dr Ko manages a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver disorders, including reflux, constipation, diarrhea, bowel cancer surveillance, and iron deficiency anemia. In addition to her clinical work, she is currently pursuing a PhD and continues to contribute to important areas in gastroenterology through her publications.

Dr Ko's expertise extends to gastroscopy and colonoscopy, and she holds accreditation from the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Her procedural skills also include polyp removals, bowel cancer surveillance, and haemorrhoid therapy. Dr Ko is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, allowing her to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations. She provides her services at both private hospitals, including Central Sydney Private Hospital and Macquarie University Hospital, as well as public hospitals, such as Canterbury Hospital.
