Dr Andrew McQuillan

Andrew is a highly experienced haematologist with over 15 years of experience in the clinical practice. He obtained his degree from the University of Western Australia and completed his haematology training in Melbourne in 2002. He later worked as a consultant haematologist at Fremantle Hospital and Royal Perth Hospital until 2017, gaining vast clinical experience along the way.

During his career, Andrew has worked in both the private and public sectors, and is currently based at Hollywood Private Hospital. He previously served on the medical advisory committee at HPH and was the WA representative on the National Blood Transfusion Committee for ten years. He has also been the WA representative for the Private Cancer Physicians of Australia and was the head of laboratory haematology at SJOG Pathology.

Andrew has a particular interest in malignant haematology and has worked as a principal investigator and co-investigator in clinical trials. He has published several papers, with a focus on radioimmunotherapy for the treatment of low-grade lymphoma. Andrew has presented his findings at national and international meetings and served on several advisory boards.

Andrew is passionate about medical education, regularly teaching undergraduates and postgraduates. He is a visiting lecturer at Notre Dame University and Curtin University. He is also a senior clinical examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
