Dr Aemelia Melloy

Dr Aemelia Melloy is an accomplished and highly skilled Consultant General Surgeon, with a specialist interest in Breast and Endocrine Surgery. She graduated with distinction from Griffith University in 2011, and completed her internship and residency at Logan Hospital in Brisbane. Following this, Dr Melloy completed her general surgical fellowship at various hospitals in Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Cairns, gaining extensive experience across a broad range of surgical specialties. In 2021, she was awarded the prestigious fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons.

Dr Melloy has an impressive range of skills and areas of interest, including the treatment of benign and malignant breast conditions, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, gastric band removal, hepatobiliary surgery, hernia repairs, the treatment of colorectal disorders, and emergency general surgery. Additionally, she has expertise in performing a broad range of surgical procedures, including laparoscopic and open surgeries, colonoscopies, and the treatment of skin lesions.

Prior to pursuing surgical training, Dr Melloy completed a Bachelor of Music and worked as a Registered Music Therapist, helping people with dementia. Her passion for music remains strong, and she enjoys playing both the piano and violin in her free time.

Dr Melloy is committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to her patients. She currently consults privately at Flecker House Medical Specialist Suites and holds monthly clinics at Amaroo Medical in Mareeba. With her extensive experience and expertise, her patients can be assured that they are receiving the highest quality surgical care available.
