Dr Josh Tsai

Dr. Josh Tsai is a highly experienced and skilled cardiologist who recently joined Cairns Private Hospital and Cairns Cardiology as a consultant. Originally from Taiwan, he moved to Australia at the age of 10 and completed his schooling in the country.

Dr. Tsai obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Western Australia in Perth in 2006 before embarking on his medical career. He began his professional journey at the Gold Coast Hospital and has since worked in various hospitals across Queensland, including Ipswich, Princess Alexandra, Cairns, and Townsville. During his previous tenure in Cairns, he served as a cardiology registrar and outreach registrar, providing essential cardiac care to remote communities in Far North Queensland.

Having completed a comprehensive cardiology advanced training program at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Dr. Tsai has developed a strong interest in structural heart disease, coronary artery disease, and heart failure. He possesses extensive expertise in a wide range of cardiology services, including transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, and diagnostic coronary angiograms.

Dr. Tsai is thrilled to be back in Cairns and is eager to establish the city as his permanent home. He finds great satisfaction in living amidst the relaxed atmosphere of Tropical North Queensland and is dedicated to serving the community as a trusted and reliable cardiologist at Cairns Private Hospital and Cairns Cardiology.

Fluent in Mandarin, Dr. Tsai is able to effectively communicate with Chinese-speaking patients, ensuring they receive the highest level of care and understanding. With his comprehensive medical training, vast experience, and dedication to his patients, Dr. Tsai is committed to providing personalized and compassionate care to individuals with cardiovascular conditions.
