Dr Chin Lim

Dr Chin Lim is a greatly respected Clinical and Pacing Cardiologist with over 30 years of experience in the field. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree with Honours from the University of New South Wales. Dr Lim completed his specialty training in Cardiology at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney, where he had the privilege of working with renowned heart failure specialists at the National Heart Transplant Centre, including the late Dr Victor Chang.

In 1993, Dr Lim moved to Cairns and established the first private Coronary Care Unit at Calvary Hospital. He also served as the Director of Cardiology at Cairns Base Hospital until retiring from public hospital commitments in 2003. Throughout his career, Dr Lim has made significant contributions to the field of Cardiology in North Queensland.

Dr Lim possesses a wide range of expertise in clinical and preventative cardiology, management of coronary and structural heart disease, and device-based treatment of arrhythmias and heart failure. He has successfully implanted and provided follow-up care for numerous loop recorders, pacemakers, defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronization devices. Notably, he established Cairns' first Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory in 1999 and performed North Queensland's inaugural implantation of an implantable defibrillator (ICD) in 2002.

Dr Lim is highly dedicated to his patients and continuously strives to provide exceptional care. He is fluent in multiple languages, including Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), Indonesian, and Malay, allowing him to effectively communicate with a diverse patient population. With his wealth of knowledge and experience, Dr Chin Lim has become a trusted and influential figure in the field of Cardiology in North Queensland.
