Adam Skidmore is an accomplished surgeon who graduated from the University of Melbourne and completed his FRACS training in General Surgery at Austin Hospital. Seeking to broaden his expertise, he ventured to the United Kingdom where he obtained further sub-specialist training in esophageal and gastric surgery, working alongside renowned surgeon Shaw Somers. During his tenure, Adam performed extensive esophageal and gastric cancer surgery, advanced laparoscopic surgery, and hiatal hernia surgery. Recently, Adam relocated to the NSW/VIC border where he treats both public and private patients, offering laparoscopic hernia surgery, gallbladder surgery, minor skin lesion removal, gastroscopy and colonoscopy, upper GI malignancy, and all aspects of upper GI surgery, including hiatal hernia and achalasia. In addition, he provides an extensive bariatric service, admitting emergency patients to Albury Wodonga Private Hospital at short notice. Patients referred for general surgery are prioritized and seen within two weeks of receiving a GP referral, with urgent appointments available for critical referrals. Adam is a board member of the Australian and NZ Society of Metabolic and Obesity Surgery and an active member of the International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus. Additionally, he is a senior lecturer at the UNSW Rural Clinical School where he teaches medical students.
