Dr Kiron Bhatia

Kiron is an experienced General Surgeon and Specialist Upper Gastrointestinal/Bariatric Surgeon with a wealth of training and expertise. After completing his initial training at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne, Kiron completed subspecialty UGI fellowships at the Austin Hospital and Monash Medical Centre, furthering his comprehensive experience in Upper GI surgery, including Bariatric Surgery and Pancreatic Surgery. Looking to expand his skills even further, he completed an additional fellowship at the National Cancer Institute Hospital in Tokyo, Japan, where he gained experience in advanced Oesophageal and Gastric cancer surgery, including laparoscopic and endoscopic techniques.

Now serving as a consultant surgeon with the department of upper gastrointestinal surgery at the world-renowned Austin Hospital in Melbourne, Kiron also offers his dedicated, multidisciplinary model of care to private patients in Martin Street, Heidelberg, Northpark, Knox, and Gisbourne. His research and surgical interests are focused on General Surgery, benign oesophageal disorders, including Reflux, Oesophageal/Gastric cancers, and Bariatric Surgery, including minimally invasive and laparoscopic techniques.
