A/Prof Mehrdad Nikfarjam

Associate Professor Nik Nikfarjam is a highly experienced general surgeon who specialises in advanced liver, pancreas, and biliary surgeries. As an esteemed member of the Hepato Pancreaticobiliary Association of Australia and New Zealand, he offers high-volume expertise in complex surgical procedures, with advanced training in laparoscopic gallbladder surgery and laparoscopic inguinal and incisional hernia repair. He also has extensive experience in advanced ERCP procedures.

Associate Professor Nikfarjam completed his medical training in Australia in 1997 and became board-certified in surgery in Australia in 2007. He then pursued advanced training in the United States for two and a half years in liver, pancreas, and foregut surgery, as well as minimally invasive laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery. Upon his return to Melbourne, he joined the Department of Surgery at Austin Health as a consultant pancreatic, liver, and biliary surgeon and Associate Professor.
