Dr Way Siow is a dedicated and experienced consultant gastroenterologist who provides outstanding healthcare services to his patients at the Northern Beaches Hospitals in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. He received his Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of New South Wales in 2006. Dr Siow furthered his expertise by completing his physicians training at Gosford and Royal North Shore Hospitals.
After completing advanced gastroenterology training, Dr Siow pursued his interest in research by undertaking a clinical research fellowship at Westmead Hospital. During this time, he worked on several liver and endoscopy-related research projects. Dr Siow is currently undertaking a PhD research, focusing on the relationship between nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and the development of colorectal cancer.
In addition to his research responsibilities, Dr Siow is a conjoint fellow with the University of Newcastle and a clinical lecturer with the University of Sydney, where he actively contributes to the education of medical students and residents. He is known for his compassionate, empathic, and approachable approach towards his patients.
Dr Siow has a particular interest in bowel cancer screening and the management of liver disorders, including viral hepatitis and fatty liver disease. He possesses accreditation in colonoscopy and gastroscopy and is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).
