Dr Uzoma Onyema

Dr Uzoma Onyema is a psychiatrist who brings extensive knowledge and expertise to Berkeley Vale Private Mental Health Services. With a strong commitment to mental health care, he is dedicated to providing comprehensive and much-needed services to the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia.

Dr Onyema obtained his psychiatry training in Ireland and is proud to be a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the United Kingdom. Following his training, he moved to New Zealand and Australia, where he became a Fellow of the Royal Australia New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.

Having worked extensively in mental health care within the Central Coast and North Sydney Local Health Districts, Dr Onyema has gained valuable experience in managing a wide range of psychiatric conditions. He has a particular interest in working with adults who present with psychiatric problems, specializing in the treatment of schizophrenia. Dr Onyema is well-equipped to implement both pharmacological and psychological interventions to ensure the best possible care for his patients.

Dr Onyema is now proud to be a part of the newly established Mental Health Clinic at Berkeley Vale Private Hospital. This state-of-the-art facility offers a 28-bed unit and a comprehensive range of specialist mental health care services. Dr Onyema is available to provide both inpatient and outpatient care, ensuring that individuals receive the support they need throughout their treatment journey.
