Dr Joanne Wright

Dr Wright completed her Psychiatry training in Northern Sydney and holds a Masters Degree in Geriatric Medicine from Edith Cowan University. She also has a certificate of Advanced Training in Old Age Psychiatry from RANZCP. With over 14 years of experience, Dr Wright has a strong interest in age-related mental health presentations, including cognitive impairment, mood and anxiety disorders, psychosis, and behavioural problems in dementia.

Currently, Dr Wright works as a Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist and Staff Specialist in the Rehabilitation and Aged Care Department at Hornsby Hospital. She is the only Psychiatrist within this department and has a key role in managing mental disorders in elderly patients. Dr Wright is also involved in the Memory Clinic at Hornsby Hospital, providing home visits and consultations to residential facilities.

Outside of her role at Hornsby Hospital, Dr Wright has a private practice where she visits residential facilities in the Northern Sydney Region. She also has experience working as a Locum Visiting Medical Officer on the Central Coast. Additionally, Dr Wright provides outpatient consultations at Berkeley Vale Clinic and offers care to clients over the age of 50. She also sees patients on the Rehabilitation and Surgical Wards within the hospital.
