Dr Peter Scougall

Dr. Peter Scougall is an experienced hand and wrist surgeon whose philosophy centers on the premise that everyone values their hands regardless of their age, hobbies, interests, and occupation. He believes that tailoring treatment to suit each patient's lifestyle is paramount to successful functional recovery while minimizing treatment inconvenience. Dr. Scougall began his impressive career after graduating with Honors from the University of Sydney in 1984 and went on to become a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1994. With more than 25 years of private practice under his belt, he specializes in treating traumatic and elective hand and wrist conditions, including sports injuries, arthritis, fractures, dislocations, and nerve and tendon conditions, among others. Dr. Scougall maintains his hand surgery expertise via his active involvement in research at the Orthopaedic Research Laboratory at the Prince of Wales Hospital and his teaching appointments in Orthopaedic, Hand, and Microsurgery. He practices at the Sydney Hospital Hand Unit and consults at St Lukes Care, The Stadium Sports Medicine Centre, Wollongong, and Figtree. Outside his impressive surgical skills and involvement in research work, Dr. Scougall also dedicates himself to humanitarian efforts by supporting hand surgery teaching in Vietnam. He has been honored with awards from the President of Vietnam and Rotary International for his 20-year involvement in the project.
