Dr James Wykes

Dr James Wykes is a highly skilled Head and Neck Surgeon who is accredited at Wollongong Private Hospital. He graduated from the University of New South Wales with a medical degree and completed his General Surgical training at various hospitals including Liverpool, Bankstown and Prince of Wales Hospitals. Dr Wykes achieved his fellowship in General Surgery in 2012 and went on to complete two further fellowships, the first in Head and Neck Surgery at Liverpool Hospital and the second at the Sydney Head and Neck Cancer Institute at Chris O’Brien/RPA. Expanding his experience to an international level, he went on to complete a Maxillofacial and Head and Neck Surgery Clinical Fellowship at London’s St George’s University Hospital through the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2016.

With accreditations as a VMO at Wollongong, Liverpool, Bankstown, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and Canberra Hospitals, Dr Wykes has a comprehensive knowledge of the medical industry. He has a primary interest in treating advanced skin cancers (BCC, SCC, melanoma), mouth, throat and jaw tumors (benign and malignant), salivary gland conditions, thyroid and parathyroid disease and microvascular reconstructive surgery of the head and neck. His expertise in these areas allows him to provide informed medical care to his patients.
