Dr Steven Yun

Dr Steven Yun is a highly qualified and experienced ophthalmologist specialised in glaucoma and cataract procedures. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Medicine, followed by his Medical Degree from the University of New South Wales. Dr Yun then completed his specialist ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital.

With a strong passion for further expertise, Dr Yun pursued a subspecialty fellowship in glaucoma and complex cataract surgery at the prestigious Bristol Eye Hospital in the United Kingdom through the RANZCO Trevelyan-Smith scholarship. This fellowship enabled him to acquire advanced skills and knowledge in his field.

Dr Yun's dedication to research and academia is evident through his numerous publications and prizes for presentations at international and local conferences. He holds a Masters of Ophthalmic Science from the University of Sydney and a Masters of Medicine in retinal biology, which were funded by the esteemed Wenkart Foundation and Rebecca Cooper scholarships. Additionally, Dr Yun contributes to the education of future doctors and ophthalmologists as a Conjoint Associate Lecturer at the University of New South Wales and the University of Sydney.

In addition to his professional commitments, Dr Yun volunteers his medical services in countries such as Nepal, Cambodia, Vietnam, and the Philippines, providing much-needed care to underserved populations. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, watching football, and cooking for his wife and daughter.

Dr Yun's expertise encompasses various procedures, including micro-incision sutureless cataract surgery, comprehensive glaucoma surgery such as Trabeculectomy, Baerveldt and Ahmed tube surgery, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery with iStent and Hydrus stents. He is also experienced in glaucoma laser procedures such as peripheral iridotomy and selective laser trabeculoplasty, sutureless pterygium surgery, and intravitreal eye injections for diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration.
