Dr Paul Cullen

Dr Paul Cullen is an experienced Psychiatrist specializing in mental health conditions in patients over the age of 70. His main area of expertise is aged care Psychiatry, with a particular focus on mood disorders, psychosis, and behavioral problems in dementia.

Dr Cullen completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree at the University of Sydney in 1996. He then undertook his basic medical training and RANZCP Psychiatry Fellowship in the Sydney West Area Health Service. During this time, he gained extensive experience in both inpatient and community-based settings, including domestic visits and residential facilities, with a specific focus on Psychiatry of Old Age.

Throughout his career, Dr Cullen has held various positions, including Staff Specialist in Aged Care Psychiatry and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at Blacktown Hospital, and Visiting Medical Officer with the Hornsby-Kuring-gai Community Aged Care Psychiatry team. He also offers private consulting services at Norwest Private Hospital.

Dr Cullen is dedicated to the education and supervision of junior medical staff. He has held several posts in this area, including Site Co-ordinator of Registrar Training at Blacktown Hospital, Chair of Education and Training Group at Sydney West Aged Care Psychiatry Service, and RANZCP college-accredited supervisor of medical students, psychiatry trainees, and geriatric medicine advanced trainees.

Currently, Dr Cullen provides outpatient consultations to clients over the age of 70 and works on the rehabilitation and surgical wards at Berkeley Vale Clinic. He is a valued member of the clinical team, known for his compassionate care and wealth of experience in aged care Psychiatry.
