Dr Timothy Shiraev

Dr Shiraev is a highly qualified vascular and endovascular surgeon with exceptional academic achievement. He completed a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (First Class Honours), where he developed a keen interest in vascular surgery. He went on to pursue a Masters in Medicine/Surgery and specialty vascular surgical training in various reputable units in Australia, including St George Hospital, Canberra Hospital, Liverpool Hospital, Royal North Shore and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals. After his training, he was awarded a Fellowship in Vascular Surgery by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Dr Shiraev further specialized in open and endovascular thoracoabdominal surgery, particularly in the setting of aortopathies, through a fellowship at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He is now a qualified consultant vascular and endovascular surgeon at esteemed hospitals such as Royal Prince Alfred, Tamworth, and the Mater Hospitals.

Dr Shiraev is passionate about research and has been awarded multiple research scholarships. He has authored over 60 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference presentations, as well as a book. His research interest lies within aortic surgery, which is the focus of his Masters of Medicine/Surgery.

Currently, Dr Shiraev is enrolled in a PhD program at The University of Sydney studying the phenotypes and outcomes of genetic aortopathies. He also dedicates himself to teaching medical students, junior doctors, and trainee vascular surgeons as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of Notre Dame and at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
