Dr Sujit Sharma

Dr. Sujit Sharma is a Consultant Specialist Psychiatrist with over 14 years of experience in Psychiatry. He offers mental health solutions in Wantirna South, located in the South East of Melbourne, Victoria.

Dr. Sharma obtained his specialist qualifications from the United Kingdom and gained expertise in various psychiatric sub-specialties, such as General Adult Psychiatry. He holds the qualifications of MRCPSYCH (Member of Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK) and CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training, UK).

In 2015, Dr. Sharma moved to Australia and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP).

Dr. Sharma's primary focus is on providing comprehensive care to patients aged 18 to 64. His areas of special interest include schizophrenia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression and anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), bipolar affective disorder, personality disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other psychosis, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, autism, ADD, autism/Asperger's syndrome, sexual dysfunction, and insomnia (sleep dysfunction).

With a holistic treatment approach, Dr. Sharma is highly regarded for his leadership in multidisciplinary teams. He is experienced in working with diverse groups, including asylum seekers and refugees, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, doctors, psychiatrists, or medical students, gender-diverse individuals, gay and lesbian individuals, those with intellectual disabilities, intersex individuals, Maori individuals, military veterans, non-English speaking individuals, and those with physical disabilities.

Dr. Sharma also offers telehealth services, allowing patients the convenience of remote consultation. He provides services such as opinion and report (MBS item 291) and shared care.

Being fluent in Hindi in addition to English, Dr. Sharma is able to effectively communicate with patients who prefer to converse in Hindi.
