Mr John Swan

John Swan is a highly qualified and experienced orthopaedic surgeon who completed his medical degree at the prestigious University of Melbourne. Following his studies, he underwent rigorous orthopaedic training within Victoria. He is a proud fellow of the esteemed Australian Orthopaedic Association, furthering his contributions to the field.

Throughout his career, John has been dedicated primarily to the care of elective and non-elective orthopaedic conditions in both upper and lower limbs. He has provided services in key positions, undertaking important roles as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon for a number of years in Box Hill Hospital and the Northern Hospital. John took his commitment to orthopaedic care further, training internationally with world-renowned specialists.

John undertook his training in complex procedures for sports injuries, joint replacements, and arthroscopic, robotic-assisted surgery and complex revision surgery of the shoulder and lower limb in France. His completion of a clinical fellowship at L Hospital de la Croix Rousse, Lyon France with Professor Sebastien Lustig, was instrumental in preparing him for diverse orthopaedic cases involving the upper and lower limbs.

He currently supervises orthopaedic training and obtained a Master of Surgery by Research at the University of Melbourne. His research background is extensive, authoring over 30 original research publications and 6 book chapters on shoulder and knee surgery. John's dedication to the field made him an exceptional resource for the provision and delivery of the most current and effective orthopaedic treatments for his patients.

John balances his life with family responsibilities, being a dedicated family man, and sharing his love for motorsport, cycling, and alpine skiing.
