Dr Jessica Kuc

Dr Jessica Kuc is a dedicated Psychiatrist with a special focus on Perinatal Psychiatry and Women's Mental Health. With extensive qualifications and experience in this field, Dr Kuc has made significant contributions to the medical community. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and has completed advanced training in Perinatal Psychiatry.

Dr Kuc obtained her medical degree from Monash University in 2010 and went on to earn a Masters of Psychiatry from the University of Melbourne in 2014. She is particularly renowned for her expertise in the parent-infant relationship and its impact on mental health. Under her guidance, development programs such as Circle of Security and Watch, Wait and Wonder have been designed.

In 2017, Dr Kuc was invited to present her work at the Marce Society for Perinatal Mental Health Australasian Conference, further demonstrating her commitment to advancing the field of Perinatal Psychiatry. She is recognised as an expert in antenatal and postnatal mental health, preconception planning, parent-infant attachment, psychotherapy for perinatal patients, birth trauma, and women's mental health.

One of Dr Kuc's passions is providing support to parents of unsettled babies and helping them establish healthy parent-child relationships. Additionally, she offers care for mothers who have a history of childhood trauma. As a mother of two young children herself, Dr Kuc empathises with the emotional and physical stresses that new parents experience, regardless of their previous parenting experiences.

Dr Kuc takes a collaborative approach to patient care, working closely with obstetricians, GPs, psychologists, and Maternal & Child Health Nurses. She believes in providing compassionate and individualised care to meet each patient's unique needs and preferences.

Recognising the importance of the perinatal period, Dr Kuc is deeply committed to supporting the mental health challenges faced by her patients during pregnancy, after childbirth, and during the preschool years. From preconception counselling to postpartum care and beyond, she strives to guide her patients every step of the way on their journey into parenthood.

Dr Jessica Kuc offers her expertise to a wide range of age groups, including mother and baby and individuals between the ages of 18 and 60. Her areas of expertise include anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and psychotherapy.

Dr Kuc provides opinion and report services (MBS item 291) and has experience working with patients through telehealth, allowing for remote consultations.
