Dr Steven Gett

Dr Steven Gett is an accomplished vascular and endovascular surgeon with more than 20 years of experience in the field. Born and raised in Brisbane, he completed his Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery at The University of Queensland before going on to complete his surgical training at several prestigious hospitals in Brisbane. In 1999, he was awarded his Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in General Surgery.

After completing his fellowship, Dr Gett travelled to England to train in Vascular Surgery at The Freeman Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne, a major European center for Endovascular Surgery. When he returned to Australia, he completed his Vascular Surgical training at internationally pioneering centres in Endovascular Surgery at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne and at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. Dr Gett was subsequently awarded his fellowship in Vascular Surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2002.

Since then, Dr Gett has made significant contributions to the field of vascular surgery. He has been a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon at the Princess Alexandra Hospital since 2002, and has also operated his own private practice at Greenslopes Private Hospital, Wesley Hospital, and St Stephen’s Private Hospital in Hervey Bay. In addition, he has lent his experience and expertise to the development and training of Australia’s next generation of Surgeons and Vascular Surgeons. Dr Gett is passionate about teaching and enjoys mentoring undergraduate medical students at The University of Queensland as well as nursing and allied health students. Through his work as a surgeon and educator, Dr Gett has made a significant contribution to the advancement of vascular surgery, both in Australia and internationally.
