Dr Nigel Pinto is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon with a wealth of experience in open and minimally invasive endovascular techniques for both arterial and venous disease. Dr Pinto received his Bachelor of Medical Science at Queensland University of Technology, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Queensland. He completed his residency in Brisbane's major surgical hospitals, before undergoing speciality training in vascular surgery locally at the Royal Brisbane and Princess Alexandra Hospitals, as well as overseas in New Zealand.
He received a fellowship in Vascular Surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in recognition of his outstanding achievements and contributions to the field and currently works as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and The Prince Charles Hospital. Dr Pinto has engaged himself in new techniques and specialty innovation, publishing his findings at both national and international meetings, securing competitive grants for further research.
Dr Pinto is committed to continuously expanding his knowledge and keeping abreast of the latest trends and techniques, which has seen him attend multiple national and international forums. He currently holds the academic positions of Chief Clinical Scientist at the Herston Biofabrication Institute and Senior Lecturer with the University of Queensland.
Dr Pinto's areas of interest include aortic neurysmal and occlusive disease, minimally invasive treatment of lower limb occlusive disease, diabetic foot disease, minimally invasive treatment of venous disease, and renal access. His contributions and advancements in these fields make him a highly respected figure among his patients and peers alike.
