Dr Shannon Thomas

Dr Shannon Thomas is a dedicated and experienced Vascular Surgeon with over a decade of clinical experience in the field. He is a proud member of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and Australia New Zealand Society for Vascular Surgery. After completing a degree in science and medicine with Honours from the University of New South Wales in 2005, Dr Thomas went on to train as a surgeon. He developed a passion for vascular science research, which resulted in publications in several international journals. As a respected member of the medical profession, he is invited to speak at both local and international vascular conferences.

Dr Thomas completed his vascular surgical clinical training at prestigious hospitals including Royal Perth Hospital, Westmead Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, and Prince of Wales Hospital. He further honed his skills by undertaking specialized endovascular training in Germany and Italy. Currently, he practices at Prince of Wales Public and Private Hospital’s as well as Sydney Children’s Hospital. Dr Thomas serves as a conjoint senior lecturer in Vascular Surgery at the University of New South Wales. He is committed to training aspiring vascular surgeons and is Supervisor of Training at the facilities where he practices.

Dr Thomas's work extends beyond Sydney. He has a private practice in Bowral, NSW, where he performs operations at the Southern Highlands Private Hospital. He is a strong advocate for a patient-focused and comprehensive approach to his work, always ensuring that his patients receive his utmost attention and care.
