Dr Roy Van Eijden

Dr Roy Van Eijden, an esteemed ophthalmologist, is dedicated to providing comprehensive eye care to his patients. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2001. Following the completion of his medical degree, he pursued specialised training in ophthalmology at one of Europe's largest and most advanced eye centers.

In 2008, Dr Roy successfully completed his training at the Academic Hospital in Maastricht, The Netherlands, obtaining the esteemed European Board Registration. In 2009, he relocated to Australia and joined the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne. During his time there, he had the opportunity to teach and mentor local registrars.

Dr Roy further solidified his expertise in ophthalmology by obtaining his Australian Ophthalmology registration in 2012. Presently, he serves as a consultant ophthalmologist at his own practice, MBL Eye Surgeons, located in Ballina, Lismore, and Maclean.

Staying at the forefront of his field, Dr Roy is committed to offering the most advanced and comprehensive treatment options to his patients. He remains well-informed about the latest developments in ophthalmology through his ongoing international exposure. Notably, he has received Glaukos iStent certification and has expertise in performing implantations of Extended Depth of Focus lenses.

Membership in several renowned ophthalmology societies attests to Dr Roy's commitment to professional growth. He is affiliated with the Dutch Ophthalmology Society, the Dutch Intraocular Implant Club, RANZCO, and both the European and Australian Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
