Dr Nicole Potasz

Dr Nicole Potasz is a seasoned medical oncologist with over 15 years of experience in the Mornington Peninsula. She graduated from Monash University in 1994, obtaining her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). In 2002, she earned the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), after completing advanced training in medical oncology.

Dr Potasz began her extensive career in medical oncology at various tertiary hospitals, where she held different positions. In 2002, she completed a clinical research year at The Austin Hospital, further enhancing her expertise. Since 2003, her primary focus has been the medical oncology department of Frankston Hospital, where she provides care to outpatients and takes part in the inpatient ward service roster.

In 2008, Dr Potasz established her private practice in Frankston, allowing her to offer personalized and comprehensive care to her patients. While she is a general medical oncologist, her areas of special interest include breast, lung, and gastrointestinal cancer. She actively participates in clinical trial groups associated with these fields and attends various multidisciplinary meetings within her areas of specialization.

Dr Potasz strongly believes in the importance of providing patients with access to both multidisciplinary care and clinical trials. Additionally, she emphasizes the significance of post-breast cancer diagnosis quality of life and survivorship care. To stay updated and connected within the field of oncology, she maintains membership in several professional societies. These include the American Society of Clinical Oncology, The European Society of Medical Oncology, The Medical Oncology Group of Australia, and subspecialty interest groups, such as Breast Cancer Trials, the Australian Lung Cancer Trials Group, and the Australian Gastrointestinal Trials Group.
