Dr Mani Niazi

Mani Niazi is a highly experienced senior surgeon with over 10 years of post-training surgical experience in General Surgery, specialising in Upper GI & Bariatric Surgery. He received his General Surgery certification in 2006 and later completed two additional fellowship trainings. These included an Upper GI and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at St George Hospital in Sydney and a Breast, Endocrine, and Surgical Oncology Fellowship at Tweed Heads and John Flynn Hospitals.

Throughout his career, Niazi has been involved in teaching, research, and innovation, lecturing at several medical schools, including Bond University, Griffith University, and the University of NSW. He has played an essential role in the development and introduction of Gastric Plication in Bariatric Surgery worldwide, being the first to introduce this method in Australia. Niazi is a patient advocate, dedicate teacher, and holds particular skills in Laparoscopic Surgery.

In his area of specialty, Niazi is an expert in various procedures, including sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, lap banding, Oesophagus surgery, stomach surgery, intestine, division of adhesions, reflux disease, and hiatus hernia. He is also skilled in gall bladder surgery and bile tract, lap/open hernia surgery, thyroid & Parathyroid Surgeries, and skin & soft tissue lesions such as lipomas and skin cancers requiring excision, grafts, or flaps.
