Dr Ali Aminazad

Dr Aminazad is a highly experienced respiratory and sleep specialist, holding memberships in the American Thoracic Society (ATS), The Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ), and the Australasian Sleep Association (ASA) in addition to his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP). After achieving his basic physician training at Austin Health, where he received numerous accolades including the Outstanding Registrar for Intern and HMO teaching in 2008, Dr Aminazad continued his training with a year of advanced ICU training at Monash Medical Centre. He then completed advanced training in respiratory medicine and joined Eastern Health as a respiratory and sleep specialist physician in 2012.

Throughout his career, Dr Aminazad has gained a wealth of experience in the management of complex patients with respiratory failure as well as the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. Notably, he established the Respiratory Sleep Disorder Centre (RSDC) in 2016 with three locations aimed at providing comprehensive evaluations and diagnoses for patients.

Aside from his clinic work, Dr Aminazad is also trained in procedural respiratory medicine, including pleural disease management as well as ultrasound-guided procedures in respiratory medicine. Additionally, he has a particular interest in lung cancer screening, pulmonary nodules, and masses, with access to Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) and CT-guided biopsies in both private and public hospitals.

As a fluent Farsi and Persian speaker, Dr Aminazad is well-equipped to communicate with a diverse range of patients and is highly respected in the medical community for his expertise and patient-focused approach.
