Dr Nick Rukin

Dr. Nick is a highly skilled urologist with a special interest in kidney stone management and prevention. After receiving his medical degree from the University of Edinburgh, he completed an Endourology fellowship at Fremantle Hospital in Western Australia, where he further developed his skills and expertise in the field. He has since become a fellow of both the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Dr. Nick is currently the Director of Urology at Redcliffe Hospital, Metro North, and works at The Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Services Hospital on the Herston campus. He is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and has published over 45 research articles in the field of urology. His academic interests include medical education and urological research, and he is currently the clinical research lead for ‘Urological 3D printing research’ at the ‘Herston Biofabrication Institute’.

Additionally, Dr. Nick is a strong advocate for urological education and has developed two smartphone medical educational apps for urological trainees. He has also supervised numerous urological PhD students in biofabrication. Dr. Nick is a member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand and sits on a urological journal editorial board. He was previously the national lead for undergraduate urology in the UK.

In his clinical practice, Dr. Nick consults at the North West Private Hospital, Peninsula Specialist Centre, and North Lakes Specialists Medical Centre. He operates from North West Private Hospital and Peninsula Private Hospital, providing patients with excellent care and personalised treatment plans.
