Dr Ashim Majumdar

Dr Ashim Majumdar is an experienced psychiatrist based in Margate, Brisbane, Queensland. With a background in mental health and neuroscience, he has established himself as a respected professional in his field.

Dr Majumdar completed his MBBS degree, followed by a diploma in psychological medicine (DPM) from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences in Bangalore, India. He then moved to the UK, where he underwent training as a registrar and senior registrar in psychiatry at Mapperly Hospital in Nottingham, earning his MRC Psych in 1976.

Throughout his career, Dr Majumdar has held various prominent positions in psychiatry. He worked as a community psychiatrist in Tasmania from 1980 to 1982, after passing his MRANZCP exam in 1981, and was subsequently awarded FRANZCP in 1983. From 1978/79, he served as a staff psychiatrist at Wolston Park Hospital. Since 1984, he has been working as a private psychiatrist, providing compassionate and professional care to his patients.

Currently, Dr Majumdar serves as a Visiting Medical Officer at Pine Rivers Private Hospital, a visiting senior psychiatrist at Greenslopes Private Hospital, and a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland.
