Dr Neil Athayde

Dr Neil Athayde is an accomplished Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 30 years of experience. He completed his medical degree from Sydney University in 1988 and was awarded 1st Class Honours. His exceptional academic background also earned him the prestigious Sidney B. Clipsham Memorial Prize in Operative Surgery.

After his graduation, Dr Athayde completed his internship and residency at various hospitals in Western Sydney, including Westmead, Auburn, Blacktown, and Nepean. Between 1992 and 1996, he received extensive training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Western Sydney. He then secured a Fellowship with the National Institutes of Health in the USA to work alongside Roberto Romero at the Perinatology Research Branch from 1996 to 1998.

Currently, Dr Athayde is working as a Staff Specialist in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Westmead Hospital and has served a term as Department Head of Obstetrics. He has also completed the Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Certificate in Maternal Fetal Medicine.

With a special interest in high-risk obstetrics and maternal and fetal medicine, Dr Athayde provides exceptional care to his patients. He practices in private hospitals such as Westmead Private Hospital and Norwest Private Hospital. He also serves the community by working in public hospitals like Westmead Hospital. Dr Athayde's extensive experience and expertise in Obstetrics and Gynaecology have made him a well-respected medical professional in Australia.
