Dr Abir Bhattacharyya is a distinguished haematologist who has been practicing as a consultant since 2013. He has a special interest in leukaemias, lymphomas, coagulation disorders and bone marrow transplantation. Dr Bhattacharyya graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2003 with an MBBS, Honours class I. He then completed joint physician and pathology training to specialise in clinical and laboratory haematology.
To further his expertise, he undertook a fellowship in bone marrow transplantation at St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney in 2013. He then went to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington USA, from 2014 to 2016, where he spent two years as a research fellow.
Dr Bhattacharyya has practice rooms with the Specialist Services Medical Group and works as a part-time staff specialist in the haematology department of Westmead Hospital. He is passionate about delivering rapid, high-quality haematological management to patients referred from general practice and other specialties.
With his impressive background and expertise, Dr Bhattacharyya is recognized and highly respected within the medical community. His ultimate goal is to ensure his patients receive the best care possible, and he achieves this by displaying his knowledge and proficiency in the field.
