Professor Manish Patel is a widely recognized expert in urological cancer surgery, particularly in the management of prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer. As a fully trained and experienced minimally invasive robotic surgeon, he utilises advanced surgical techniques to deliver optimal patient outcomes. His sub-specialty practice focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer, including the investigation of elevated PSA levels, blood in the urine, and tumors in the kidneys.
After completing his urology training in New South Wales, Professor Patel was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Urology. He has also been awarded a uro-oncology fellowship from the renowned Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, solidifying his position as an Australian leader in the management of urological malignancies.
As a full professor of urological oncology at the University of Sydney and a clinical professor at Macquarie University, Professor Patel coordinates a large teaching program and leads a sizeable research team focused on oncological and quality of life outcomes.
