Dr Jinna Yao

Dr Jinna Yao is a skilled and compassionate urological surgeon who is dedicated to providing exceptional, tailored care to her patients. She believes in using the latest techniques while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of her patients. Dr Yao has a particular interest in kidney and prostate diseases, including BPH, robotic and laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery, and kidney transplantation.

Dr Yao graduated with honours from the University of New South Wales School of Medicine in 2007 and a Master of Surgery from the University of Sydney in 2014. She underwent a six-year Advanced Surgical Training for Urology in New South Wales and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2019. Dr Yao then completed her post-fellowship training in kidney and pancreas transplantation at Westmead Hospital, where she developed advanced skills in complex open and laparoscopic kidney surgery.

Dr Yao is a full member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand, and she is dedicated to education and training. She combines her clinical work with research and has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications. She has also spoken at over 30 peer-reviewed conferences worldwide, including the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand, American Urological Association, European Association of Urology, World Congress of Endourology, and the World Transplant Congress.

Dr Yao's specialties include the management of men and women with lower urinary tract symptoms, including BPH, overactive bladder, and UTI. She is experienced in robotic and minimally invasive surgery, kidney and prostate cancers, laser surgery for kidney stones, vasectomy, circumcision, and kidney transplantation.
