Dr Michael Donovan

Dr Michael Donovan is a highly skilled General Surgeon with expertise in gastrointestinal, hernia, endocrine, salivary gland, and bariatric (weight loss) surgery. He employs minimally invasive surgical techniques to ensure quick and easy recovery for his patients. A Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Dr Donovan held various executive positions at both local and national levels and was the President of General Surgeons Australia. He completed his medical training at the University of Queensland and acquired specialist training in South-East Queensland, including the Sunshine Coast. Later, he pursued further training in Basingstoke, UK, before starting his specialist practice on the Sunshine Coast in 2002. Dr Donovan is an experienced surgical trainer and is actively involved in surgical training, serving as a member of the Queensland Board in General Surgery and as a College Examiner.
