A/Prof Mark Pinkham is a renowned radiation oncologist with expertise in brain and spinal (CNS) cancer, lung cancer, melanoma, palliative radiotherapy, and stereotactic radiation therapy. He currently practices at Icon Cancer Centre North Lakes and Greenslopes in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. He is also a Staff Specialist at the Gamma Knife Centre of Queensland at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. A/Prof Pinkham holds an Adjunct Professorship at Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

A/Prof Pinkham obtained his Bachelor of Medicine (BM) and Bachelor of Surgery (BCh) degrees, as well as a Master's degree in Physiological Sciences with a specialization in neurosciences from The University of Oxford, UK, in 2002. He completed his specialist training in Brisbane in 2014 and then pursued an 18-month Clinical Oncology sub-specialty fellowship in neuro-oncology and intracranial stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) at the Christie Hospital in the UK.

With a strong interest in melanoma and central nervous system diseases, particularly those affecting the brain, A/Prof Pinkham actively engages in translational research. He has been involved in the conduct and management of numerous studies in these fields, securing competitive research funding and grants amounting to AU$4.11 million. A/Prof Pinkham plays a pivotal role as a member of the Scientific Committee within the Co-operative Trials Group for Neuro-Oncology (COGNO), leading research initiatives.

Furthermore, A/Prof Pinkham serves as the Clinical Lead for brain metastases treatment protocols on eVIQ and chairs the SRS working group within TROG (Trans Tasman Radiation Oncology Group), aiming to establish universal quality assurance standards for radiosurgery trials across Australia and New Zealand.

As a radiation oncology trainer, A/Prof Pinkham actively participates in the national level examination of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR). He supervises post-graduate Masters and PhD students at QUT, where he imparts his knowledge and expertise in the field.

Through his numerous professional roles and passion for research, A/Prof Mark Pinkham has established himself as an expert in radiation oncology. He is well-respected by his peers for his contributions to the field and dedication to improving patient outcomes.
